Highly recommended for the inexperienced rider before taking the Basic Rider instruction. Provides an introduction to the motorcycle operation, gears, and controls. Learn through lecture, hands-on instruction and demonstration. You must provide personal protective equipment: long sleeves, long legged pants, over the ankle closed-toe shoes, helmet, protective eyewear (sunglasses, goggles, safety glasses, or reading glasses) and gloves.

Classroom and on-cycle instruction under controlled range conditions using Motorcycle Training Safety Center motorcycles. MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) accredited course. Practice the skills of effective motorcycle operation, braking, obstacle avoidance, and strategies for critical conditions, protective gear, types of motorcycles, inspection, and care. Successful completers of both riding and written tests receive an insurance discount, plus a waiver of the riding portion of the Oklahoma DMV test. You provide own personal protective equipment: long sleeves, long-legged pants, over the ankle closed-toe shoes, helmet, eye protection (sunglasses, goggles, safety glasses, or reading glasses), and gloves.

Interpret repair manuals and properly use tools to perform basic repairs and routine maintenance on small gas engines. You will apply these techniques to lawn mowers, leaf blowers, weed trimmers, and more. Student projects may be allowed with instructor permission.
